Living the Posh Life in NYC

Now, let me go ahead and say one thing before this post. It's not secret that I'm actually obsessed with NYC. Anyone who has ever spent 5 minutes with me knows that, and there's not a day goes by that I don't dream of one day living there again. I had the opportunity to intern there this summer, actually- but, alas an unpaid internship isn't exactly my cup of tea.

Why am I prefacing my post with this, you may wonder? It's because this past weekend I spent in NYC completely blew my mind in every way possible. I'm talking I now have an even greater love for New York than I ever thought possible. And I'm gonna show you why (and how) to make NYC the best possible.

The Transportation- Bolt Bus

There's a variety of away to reach Manhattan- bus, train, plane, car... but for me, the choice to ride a Boltbus was perfect. I left Thursday morning around 8:15, and not only was it cheap ($16!!), it was equipped with leather seats, free wifi, power outlets... and we go into NYC around 12:15pm. On the way back on Sunday, I even got a row to myself bc it wasn't fully booked. They leave every hour or so, and definitely worth it.

The Hotel- The New Yorker

My boyfriend suprised me by doing all the hotel bookings for this trip (we stayed in Southampton Thursday night), and let me tell you- The New Yorker is an amazing, iconic hotel. It's in a fabulus location (ever heard of the Empire State Building? Macy's? A subway? yeah its a 5 min walk), and the architecture is amazing. The staff was pretty shitty actually- long lines, unresponsive, but it's currently going through renovations by being taken over by Wyndham, so I'll give them that. Not to mention the fact that they overbooked our room and we were upgraded to an insanely beautiful executive suite, with 2 marble bathrooms, a dining room table, separate bedroom....

The Attractions

We met up with a couple of my friends from 2 summers ago and went out to LAVO on Friday night. Super amazing club, with good music, venue, etc. Plus we may have had a VIP table so that didn't hurt..

Saturday night we went to the Comedy Cellar. I don't think I've laughed that hard in years. They sat us up front (probably bc we're a young couple), and we wined and dined all night. Each of the 4 or 5 acts was hilarious! Comedy Cellar is known for having guest pop-ins, but still boy were we surprised when none other than Aziz Asani walked out on stage! He was in town for the night and wanted to try out some new material. 5 stars!

The Eats-

Everyone raves about brunches on brunches on brunches, so we knew we had to scope one out. 230 Fifth, an outdoor rooftop all-you-can-eat brunch, did not disappoint. I mean where else can you endlessly nom with palm trees and the empire state building in the background??

The rest of the trip was just relaxing, fun, and stylish. I'll be posting my outfit choices later. Let me know if you want more info on any of these!

xoxo
